Mission Statement : “Rhodes Jr. High World Studies Academy challenges its students to strive for academic excellence by providing rigorous and relevant learning experiences through integrating content areas to better understand the fabric of the diverse American cultures and our interconnectedness to other peoples and nations of the world. Rhodes students will show a keen sense of empowerment, tolerance, and respect as democratic citizens of our American Republic and world community as a whole.”

Vision Statement : The teachers, staff and community will work collaboratively to create a culture of learning that encourages students to become:

Inquirers - WSA students acquire skills that allow them to research ideas and topics independently and develop a curiosity that leads them to become lifelong learners.
Critical Thinkers -WSA students apply high level thinking skills in order to make sense of the world issues they face.
Culturally Aware -WSA students have a high level of awareness of cultural differences across the globe. They value and appreciate the diversity of different cultures and understand the role these cultures play in shaping the political, economic and environmental issues of the past, present, and future.
Ethical - WSA students are able to evaluate different points of view in order to develop a sense of right and wrong. Students are able to communicate and defend their beliefs and actions.n these exciting opportunities.
