Mrs. Cathy Beaudoin
Title I Specialist

Biography

Welcome to Rhodes!

My name is Cathy Beaudoin and I am excited to be the Title I Specialist at Rhodes for the 2019-2020 school year.  I grew up and went to college in New Jersey and most recently have lived in Florida for six years.  I have earned two Bachelor's degrees (Secondary Education and English) from Rowan University and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from University of West Florida in 2017.

My husband and I moved to Florida in 2012 where I spent three years as a 6th and 7th grade ELA teacher and three years as an Instructional Coach for three different middle schools.  In 2015, I was named Okaloosa County School District's Teacher of the Year and was the runner-up for Florida Teacher of the Year.  I was honored by Rowan University and named one of the "40 Under 40 Outstanding Alumni" in 2016.  My background as an instructional coach in Florida allowed me to create and present professional developments school- and district-wide, lead and serve on district-wide curriculum-writing committees, and model and co-teach lessons for teachers. I also am a member of Florida's Teacher of the Year LEAD Network and Leadership Florida organization that has allowed me to collaborate with educators, community members, and business leaders across the state of Florida.

In January 2018, my husband Steve and I moved to Mesa to be closer to family.  We have a son, Tommy, a Goldendoodle named Penny, and two cats, Lilly and Nash.  I am so excited to support the Rhodes faculty, staff, students, and parents this upcoming school year!
