Mrs. Dana Dix
I have been in education since 1991 and at Rhodes Jr. High since 2010. After graduating with a Bachelor's in Liberal Arts from Winona State University in Minnesota, I started my career as a music teacher in South Dakota. I then moved back to MN and served as a band director at Winona Middle School and then Byron High School respectively. I completed a Master's of Education in 2004, graduating from St. Mary's University in MN.
In 2005 my husband and I decided to leave the frozen tundra and create a home in the beautiful desert and I was hired to teach band at Kino Jr. High.
In the spring of 2010, I was fortunate enough to be hired as the Title I Specialist at Rhodes Jr. High where I had the opportunity to learn from and to support the wonderful faculty.
Last Spring - I was happy to accept a position teaching a music class with our 7th Grade Teams. Students will have the opportunity to explore, record, create, and mix their own music. Students will also be able to build and craft both acoustic and electronic instruments. My students will then use their creations to enhance the projects they are working on in other academic classes.
I look forward to working with my students and meeting their families!
