It is great to be a part of the Rhodes to Success program and explore Summit Learning, a platform that emphasizes personal responsibility. My family moved from Colorado to Arizona in July 2017, and started at Rhodes in August 2018. I have taught children and adults of all ages, with various abilities, and in a variety of volunteer, informal and professional settings. Having completed a Bachelor's degree, in Communications, at the University of Utah, I later found the Boettcher Teacher Residency Program in Denver, Colorado, where I earned a teaching license and a Master's degree in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education.
I love to learn about people, and to learn with them. Junior High is a unique time of challenge, growth, and preparation for high school. Language has always fascinated me and I love teaching English! ELA is all about how we communicate and interact with the world around us, and how we present ourselves in a digital arena. Successfully communicating with advanced technology takes understanding of how the written English language has changed, and has not changed. Our goal is to prepare MPS students for college, career and community. We can do it by working together!
