Biography

I was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois.  I graduated from Bradley Univeristy, with a degree  in Teaching at the Junior High Level with minors in math, science, and language arts.  I completed my Master's Degree in At-Risk Populations at the University of Phoenix.   I hold an Arizona Teaching Certificate with Endorsements in Middle Grade Instruction, Middle Grades Mathematics, and Middle Grades Reading/Language Arts.

I moved to Mesa, Arizona in June 1990.  I was unloading my U-Haul with oven mitts because the day I arrived it was 122 degrees!  In January 1992 I was hired by Mesa Public Schools at Shepherd Junior High School.   I have taught science, chemistry, mathematics, pre-algebra, reading, English, study skills, and in-school suspension.  I have coached spiritline and the Shepherd Junior High School's National Academic League Team, which won the national competition in the Spring of 1998. During 2011-2014 school years I taught at Taylor Junior High. I taught 7th and 8th grade English/Language Arts and 7th grade Math.  I made the move to Rhodes Junior High School in 2014-15 school year to teach Math and Language Arts.

My family consists of my husband, John, and  two of our ten children still at home, two dogs, and 1 cat.  We volunteer for St Vincent de Paul Society providing food and necessities to those in need in our community. As a family we support various fundraising events for Muscular Dystrophy Association that benefit our grandsons.   We enjoy camping, watching movies, and swimming.  We love San Diego, Disneyland, the Diamondbacks, the Suns, and the Cardinals.
