Hello, Roadrunners! I will be working with students at Rhodes on reading, writing and math, and providing support for students to learn the skills they need to be successful in 7th grade and beyond. I'm excited about all of the changes here at Rhodes, and honored to be with a team of teachers who are dedicated to helping students excel academically and to grow in social and emotional skills. We've been working hard to create an environment on the AIM team that will invite students to be their best and support them with the knowledge that they need to be successful.
While this is my second year in Mesa Public Schools, I am not new to teaching and this is my 18th year as an educator. I started my career in Tempe and then moved with my family overseas where my husband and I taught in American and international private schools in China and Morocco. We loved our time abroad, but decided we ultimately missed family, the desert, and Mexican food and have relocated back to our roots in our native Arizona.
I am a graduate of Arizona State University, where I earned a B.A. in Humanities, and have masters degrees in Special Education and Educational Leadership. Over the years I've had the opportunity to work as a special education teacher, classroom teacher and teacher of students learning English. My experiences in Arizona and abroad have given me the chance to meet and work with many different people and students and I'm excited to be part of the Rhodes family.
