"If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people." ~Chinese Proverb~
This adage makes me love teaching more, my goal is to prepare the new generation to conquer the challenges in all aspects of life. I'm hoping that the Science concepts being embedded in their young minds will enable them to make good decisions and inspire them to explore further for the betterment of their community and the world.
This is my first year at Rhodes Junior High, but I have been teaching for a while.I taught in the Philippines and in China. My career here in the US started in 2005, when Baltimore County Human Resource Personnel went to my country to interview and hire teachers, I was one of the lucky 16 who got hired. For 8 years , Maryland opened doors of opportunities for me, I was once the Science Chairperson, organized and planned STEM Fair for our school, trained and coached the winners who competed in the District STEM Fair and in the TV show, The Science Bowl.
I moved here in Arizona in 2013 and taught in Elementary school. In my previous schools, I put up STEM Club and honed in young scientists, for three consecutive years I have been training students who have competed in Arizona Science and Engineering Fair.
I have certification in Maryland and Arizona in the following categories; Middle Grades Science, Elementary Education and Special Education
Excitement fills my heart when the class is performing an experiment, the students eyes' shine with amazement as they observe the changes that are happening before them. I want to share this and more to the parents .Thus, I encourage parents/guardians to actively participate in the student's learning by communicating with the teachers. We are working for the same purpose, for our youth to be fully equipped with skills and knowledge necessary for a promising future.
