Parental involvement policy and regulation   

The Arizona Legislature has enacted a law that lists various rights of parents relating to their children's education. The district has adopted a policy and regulation to implement this law. Topics:

  • Homework, attendance and discipline
  • Courses of study, instructional materials, promotion and graduation requirements, district policies and regulations
  • Objection to instructional material and withdrawing a child from an activity
  • Permission for children to participate in sex education curriculum, including dating abuse
  • Withdrawing children from instruction or presentations relating to sexuality in courses other than sex education curriculum
  • Student clubs and other extracurricular activities
  • Open enrollment
  • Immunizations
  • Results of Arizona's Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) and the Student Accountability Information System (SAIS)
