Functional Reading: This class provides instruction in basic reading skills.  Emphasis is on increasing and refining reading skills necessary for independent living and day-to-day usage.  Emphasis is on reading needed for maximum independence and success within school, present, and future community settings and interactions with non-disabled peers.
