2021-22 School year will mark the 21st year I have been in education. It also marks my fourth year at Red Mountain High School. The path that brought me here has been one filled with many opportunities with Mesa Public Schools; Pre-K teacher, Extended Kinder teacher, Family Support Specialist, Substitute teacher, Transition Specialist and finally as the Transition Facilitator and Transition School to Work (TSW) Coordinator here at RMHS.

My educational path has been equally diverse, beginning with earning my AA at Scottsdale Community College with an emphasis in Business. While earning my Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing at Arizona State University, I changed majors and discovered my interest in Family Studies and Human Development. It wasn’t until my own daughter was an MPS student that I discovered opportunities and my love of education. She was a Red Mountain Graduate in 2010 and is now a Registered Dietitian having earned her Master’s degree from Arizona State! We now have a Mountain Lion and Sun Devil Connection - Go Lions & Devils! I returned to school to earn my Post-Bach Degree in Secondary Education and most recently adding Special Education Certification to the list. I’m truly a lifelong learner!

I am an Arizona Native and love the desert and all it’s beauty. I also have a love of the ocean, my husband and I try to get there as often as possible and believe vitamin Sea and flip flops are key to life’s balance.

I truly enjoy teaching and guiding students as they navigate through high school and prepare to transition into a fulfilling and successful life as an adult. Helping students to identify their strengths and interests and develop the interpersonal skills needed to become the best they can be fills my heart!

This year has started in a much more familiar way and I for one hope we are able to maintain in-person learning. There may be challenges along the way, but know that we are in it together and will work hard to turn challenges into learning opportunities for us all!

Here's to a Great Year!
