Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

My procedures and classroom expectations:

Chemistry is not a course to be taken lightly.  To succeed in this class, whether it is general, college preparatory chemistry, or Advanced Placement Chemistry, you must  take responsibility for your learning. In the words of Benjamin Franklin, "By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail". Grades are earned, not given so you need to step up and do your part.   I assure you that this can be a fantastic class if we both give 100%.

These are my expectations for you:

  • You will complete assignments.  Late work is not accepted unless you have an excused absence. If you are absent, you need to get the daily log from a neighbor, and schedule any make-up assignments with me.
  • You will participate in class.  You need to let me know if you are not sure about something.  If you don't ask, I assume that you know what is going on.
  • You will take quizzes, exams, and complete laboratory assignments with the utmost integrity. There is a zero tolerance for cheating.
  • You will treat me, your peers, and school property with respect.
