Chinese  AP Chinese & Level III

AP Chinese and Chinese Level III are both weighted and Dual Enrollment class. Each course offers 10 college credits.

The AP Chinese program offers high school students an opportunity to earn credit for Chinese courses at the college level. In the AP Chinese course, students should intensively practice Chinese in three modes: interpersonal, interpretive and presentational. In addition, they should develop Chinese languages skills in the five goal areas: communication, cultures, connections, comparisons, and communities.

A Mandarin Chinese level III language learner will demonstrate the overall features of a Novice and Intermediate Range most of the time or all of the time. In a proficiency context, a Mandarin Chinese Level III language user who meets the criteria for the intermediate low, but is not able to do so for some content areas or tasks all of the time in spontaneous, unrehearsed language use, will be rated Novice High.
