Ms. Emily Pavkov
RMHS Dance Department Director
This is my 8th year teaching dance at a public school and I love being a Mountain Lion. I graduated from Arizona State University in May 2014 with a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Dance and Education. As a college student, I taught at several dance studios throughout the east valley. Before that, I trained as a competitive dancer at a young age in many styles. Growing up as a competitive dancer in Arizona gave me solid technical roots but my passion didn't really develop until high school. I started going to more conventions taking classes from bigger name choreographers and my high school dance teachers started challenging me as a choreographer. My high school dance teachers were my inspiration to become a dance teacher myself. I am also certified to teach bungee fitness at Tough Lotus in Chandler, AZ which I absolutely love as well!
I believe there is ALWAYS something new to learn so I hope to be constantly growing as a teacher/dancer/choreographer/human. I am inspired every single day by all levels of dancers with the hard work and creativity they put into this unique and beautiful art form. I truly have the best job in the world and I am incredibly thankful for all my students!
