SC45 - Honors Biology

This course is designed as an in-depth study of the principles of the living world. Coursework will provide students with an under- standing of the complexity, diversity, and interconnectedness of life on earth. Students will explore cellular and molecular biology, genetics and genetic technology, evolution, and ecosystems in a manner that develops higher-level thinking skills while providing real-world applications. Students will be expected to engage in extensive lab work including an independent research project for presentation in the school science fair. This course includes the topic of human reproduction and may include dissections and biotechnology concepts. NOTE: This is a weighted course.
