Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

Welcome to Biology/Honors Biology!!

I would like to take this opportunity to review classroom expectations so that this will be a rewarding school year for all of us as you begin and work through your high school career. ALL the specifics are discussed in the syllabus and if there are any questions please contact me either via email or leave me a phone message (480)472-8064 and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

But I also wanted to point out my expectations as not only the teacher in the classroom but as a fellow human in the classroom :)

These are also displayed in our classroom:

Respect; show it, require it

Commit - either way and be strong

Don't ever quit

Take responsibility

Think for yourself

Keep perspective

Realize and learn from mistakes

Be honest

Be inspired

Show good character

Be your own person

Participate . . . in your life

Do the right thing

Consider others

Seek happiness

Do it again tomorrow

People make mistakes and I am definitely one of them!  Most mistakes can be dealt with in class if all parties are flexible and mature enough to comprehend the problem and are willing to work hard to deal with the issues.  When individuals show me that they are not willing to try their best to resolve issues then my first step is usually to remove them from the environment; the class overall is my focus and I will do what is best for the class.  After a one-on-one conversation if issues are still occurring I will involve parents, either through email or a phone call and/or administration.
