This class focuses on cardiovascular endurance, strength, and flexibility. Forms of exercises may include: step aerobics, hi-lo impact aerobics, interval training, circuit training, free weights, and other combination workouts. Fitness testing will be included.
Students will be required to complete 3-timed ONE MILE RUNS. An incomplete grade is given if not completed by the end of the semester.
Weekly class schedule:
Mondays: Step aerobics
Tuesdays: Teacher choice (kickboxing, yoga, Pilates, Zumba, abs/core, etc.)
Wednesdays: Cardiovascular endurance activities (walking/jogging, agility, etc.)
Thursdays: Circuit days (cardiovascular endurance and strength conditioning)
Fridays: hi-lo impact aerobics
One mile runs:
First: February 7th 5:30 continuous jogging
Second: March 7th 7:00 continuous jogging
Third: April 4th 1 mile continuous jogging
75% Full participation (follow procedures, stay on task, participate the WHOLE class time), attendance, and dressing out in PE uniform with hair back.
15% Quizzes and tests
10% Reading/Writing assignments
Know all major muscles
Know heart rate calculations
Understand Aerobic Metabolism
Transfer knowledge into lifetime fitness activities
Improve physique and performance level
Refer to the Girl’s Physical Education policies and procedures for all other requirements
