My philosophy...

is to teach valuable health and wellness skills to students in principle and action that will help guide them to commit to heatlhy choices for life.  Teaching students these valuable skills will also provide them with the tools necessary for enhancing the quality and longevity of their lives.  To accomplish this, it is important that I include all aspects of physical fitness and wellness, including but not limited to the five components of physical fitness and preventative disease practices.  It is imperative to also promote a broad spectrum of physical activities that students find enjoyable that will keep them motivated to participate in for life.  Facilitating these physical fitness activities will provide experiences for each individual to develp self-confidence, leadership, respect and teamwork.  It will also help students feel a sense of belonging while developing a positive attitude towards physical fitness.  It is important to create a nonthreatening atmosphere in which all students are included and challenged but also are able to succeed when challenged.  The knowledge and skills learned will help them feel a sense of accomplishment which will lead them through their journey of an ongoing healthy lifestyle.
