Principles of English I

This course will fine-tune different writing strategies and will develop academic listening, speaking, and reading skills. Additionally, this course will also prepare students for specific writing experiences such as literary analysis and exposition. Literary terms, vocabulary study, composition techniques and outside readings will be incorporated.  Students will continue to review and reinforce grammar, mechanics and usage skills through a variety of writing activities. Reading and writing at home is essential to a student’s success in this class.
