I am a Mesa native and proud product of Mesa Public Schools. I attended Jordan Elementary, Madison Elementary, Brimhall JHS, and Mesa HS. I received my undergraduate degree from Arizona State University in Secondary English Education. I have completed graduate programs in English and Educational Leadership though NAU. I escaped Arizona, briefly, for a study/teach abroad to England.

I have been teaching English in Mesa since 2003. I first taught at Kino JHS and then moved to Red Mountain HS in 2006. I have taught Honors Freshman, Principles of English I, Literary Explorations, Sophomore English, and AP Literature and Composition. I have also taught for Mesa Distance Learning Program (MDLP) and University of Phoenix.

Things that keep me sane are coffee, writing (I am a blogger), cooking (AKA making a mess), and reading (which is infinitely more difficult for an English teacher than you would think). As a literature teacher, I feel obliged to tell you titles of books I enjoy: The Time Traveler’s Wife, Frankenstein, Love You Forever, Bright Lights Big City, The Road...

Every day I am thrilled to be a teacher and feel privileged to take part in a student’s education. My students' boundless energy and capacity for learning amazes me daily. I absolutely believe every one of my students can be successful; improving their achievement is my number one goal.
