I was born in upstate New York. After graduating from high school, I entered the United States Army and was stationed primarily in Germany.
Following my three years in the army, I served a two-year mission in Germany for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
It was during my missionary service that I met my wife. We were married in Germany and then she moved with me to the United States.
In 1987 I graduated from Arizona State University and taught German for one year at a different Mesa high school before being hired in 1988 to be one of the teachers at the new Red Mountain High School. I then completed a Masters of Arts degree in German from ASU.
This year, I begin my 33rd year at Red Mountain and hope to be here for many years to come!
