Counselor, 10th Grade (L-Z)

It is an honor to serve as a counselor for the Class of 2023. My objective is to support students in their high school career by helping them set goals and make positive choices for their future. As a Red Mountain graduate from the class of 1995, I am happy to be back at my former high school serving as an educator and guiding young people.

I am excited to say that after ten years of teaching social studies for Mesa Public Schools, I chose to continue my career in education as a school counselor. While teaching was an amazing adventure and I was proud to know and work with so many young people, I was ready for a new challenge. I earned my M.A. in Education majoring in School Guidance Counseling at Ottawa University. I also have my M.S. in Addiction Counseling from Grand Canyon University and my B.A. in Secondary Education from Arizona State University. Needless to say, I am still a Sun Devil at heart!

On a personal note, I am a proud wife and mother to my three beautiful daughters who enrich and empower my life in so many ways. My life experiences have aided me in becoming an educator with the hope of making a difference in my students’ lives. When I was a high school student, I never would have imagined becoming a teacher or a counselor, much less working at my own high school. However, there were many caring people along the way who encouraged me to persevere and discover my own dreams. My hope is to give that same encouragement back to my students.
