While we work out the payment process, please e-mail the following information: student name and age, parent name and phone number, and which camp you wish to attend. We will add you to the list and reserve your place at the camp.
The week-long STEM Camp will provide students with an opportunity to work individually and in teams to learn and apply concepts in areas such as:
- Mechanics (simple machines, force, motion, statics)
- Thermodynamics (temperature, heat transfer, insulation, phase change)
- Electronics and Electricity (Ohm's law, circuits, logic, computers)
- Robotics (programming, control, flow charts)
- Engineering and the Environment (recycling, ethics, cost analyses)
- Careers in Engineering and Technology
In the Robotics Camp, participants will use Lego Mindstorms NXT robots, Parallax BoeBots, and Tetrix Robotics Systems as they learn and apply the following:
- Robot Design and Teamwork
- Mechanics and Power
- Programming and Logic
- Sensors and Controls
- Robotics Careers
Camp participants will be supervised by high school mentors who guide them in their projects under the direction of the Red Mountain High School Engineering instructor.
