Biography
Originally from the town of Boring Oregon, Ms. Griffin decided to make her life more interesting by exploring theatre and drama in high school and received a talent grant for community college. After two years in the Mt. Hood Theatre Program she relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. Ten years of pounding the Hollywood pavement followed. Her day jobs included: fitness director, children's theatre, day player, extra work and tour guide/stage host at Universal Studios. She then decided to tour the globe by working as an Entertainment Cruise Director on board Princess Cruises. But longing to be back in the world where she had the most fun (high school theatre) she returned to land to finish her college degree at Eastern Oregon University where she graduated with Honors. Mesa Public Schools came calling and her first teaching job was Drama and English at Shepherd Junior High where after one year she built the drama program into a full time position and then went on to co-pioneer their musical theatre class all while earning her MA degree in Theatre Production from Central Washington University. But bigger and brighter adventures were on the horizon so after four years at Shepherd she traversed the high seas once again to teach IB High School Theatre in Waterloo, Belgium. This is her third year at Red Mountain and she is excited to be back in America where she prefers the food and the weather in Arizona and feels like she is truly home.
