Welcome to EN54, Paperback Literature, a semester long class in which students earn 0.5 credits. This course develops skills in both reading and writing. Along with whole-group lessons and discussions, students read, analyze, and write about selected books from various genres. This class is designed to improve reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary skills, to develop critical understanding and techniques in formal essay writing, to refine skills in critical reading and thinking of both fiction and non-fiction, and to enhance literary understanding, appreciations, and analysis through reading, discussion, tests, and essays.
