Device Troubleshooting

My device has a black screen

  • Is your device charged? Try to connect it to power.
  • Open your device until it is in tablet form with the screen and keyboard on the outside. If this does not work, return your device to the laptop position and proceed through the following steps.
  • Hold down the Esc key until the screen changes
  • Hard Reset
    • Hold the power button until the red light on the 'i' in ThinkPad goes dark
    • Keep holding the power button down for another 10 seconds

My trackpad isn't working

This can be because a volume button is stuck. 

Try pressing the volume buttons on the side of your device to see if that effects the performance of your trackpad.

I tried to log in and it's just spinning

Hard Reset

  • Hold the power button until the red light on the 'i' in ThinkPad goes dark
  • Keep holding the power button down for another 10 seconds

I'm having trouble connecting to WiFi.

  • Swipe in from the right side of your screen to bring up the Action Center. 
    • Choose Network
    • Turn the WiFi on and off
    • Select MPS and choose Connect
  • Restart your device

I tried logging in but it says "Domain it not available"

  • Check your username and password
  • Make sure the Caps Lock is not on
  • Restart the device
  • Look in the bottom left corner to see if you are connected to WiFi

I can't login to Canvas.

  • Make sure to add @students.mpsaz.org to the end of your username
  • This is the same username and password as your computer login
  • If you are a new student, this will take 24-48 hours
