The RMRE 3rd Grade Team will have a set of shared grading collectives so that expectations are the same for all students from all teachers. The set of collectives are stated below as well as links to the MPS Portals to view your child's grades. Please contact your child's homeroom teacher if you have any questions about these expectations.

Retake/Redo

The 3rd grade team is committed to ensuring visual evidence of academic progress and supporting all students to show continuous growth toward mastery of standards. We also commit to providing all learners opportunity to make personal investments in their learning, set and achieve goals, and develop learning behaviors to become successful lifelong learners. The 3rd grade teachers agree to offer unlimited Retake/Redo within each grading period after the student receives remediation or extra time to demonstrate student growth in learning reading, ELA, and math standards. As students progress through the year, they will continue to be monitored so that our class records indicate mastery as it is evidenced. Teacher discretion will be used in the event retaking a test will not result in a higher grade. As third graders to not receive standard letter grades, the teachers rely on MPS directions when reporting student achievement to ascribe performance at levels 1, 2, 3 & 4. These score levels support a range of assessments will be used to evidence learning.
