Mrs. Gibson has been with Mesa Public Schools since 2005 where she has worked with Special Education students in grades kindergarten through high school. She worked for two years in the Chandler Public School district prior to coming on board with MPS. Mrs. Gibson has a B.S.from North Central University and she is dual certified to teach Special Education and General Education. She currently teaches Special Education Resource at Red Mountain Ranch Elementary School for students in K-3. She is also involved with Special Education district initiatives and grants and she has been privileged to serve in leadership as team lead, department chair, 504 coordinator, behavior interventionist, Professional Development trainer, and student teacher mentor for ASU and NAU. She was honored to receive a "Student Services Award" in 2013 and a "You Touched the Future" award in 2015.
Mrs. Gibson is a "near" native of Arizona and attended kindergarten through high school in Mesa before moving to Minneapolis, Minnesota to attend college. She is married and has one daughter who graduated from Red Mountain High School and is attending Northern Arizona University. Her family also includes two rescue dogs, Jack and Ace. In her spare time, Mrs. Gibson enjoys cooking and baking, working out, shopping, swimming, trips to the beach, and spending time with family and friends.
Mrs. Gibson is passionate about seeing students obtain new skills and ability levels. She believes that learning happens when students are engaged and having fun so her emphasis is on utilizing hands-on manipulatives and active participation in all classroom activities in a way that is different, exciting, and meaningful.
