This is a selection of websites that have eBooks for you to share with your students that YOU read to them (or they read to themselves). If there is a username/password, please share this in a non-public way with your families. Email, newsletter, phone call, note are all ok. You may not post it publicly on Facebook, a webpage, or the school website. This is a living document, so please let me know if you have resources to add, or if any of these no longer work.
We Give Books: FREE from the Pearson Foundation http://www.wegivebooks.org/ has fiction and non-fiction that YOU read aloud. (currently blocked at school, don’t ask)
Our Capstone Library:These are books we purchased for our library. Other schools do not share them. They are accessible from school or home and have unlimited licenses (multiple students can read them at the same time). You go to http://www.mycapstonelibrary.com/login/index.html and enter the username RMRES and password BOOKS (not cap sensitive). The username/password and link can be shared with RMRE families (on paper, in an email, or a newsletter), but may NOT be posted in a place accessible to the public like a webpage.
Destiny Catalog/Destiny MyQuest: This is our library catalog and is accessible from school or home. From the District Library Homepage http://www.mpsaz.org/library/, select “Search Library Catalogs” on the left, select our school from the list, and go to the catalog tab to look for books. Each book has a limited number of copies, so you may see the message “not available”. You can view books with the generic mps4/search username/password, or you (and students in 4th-6th grades) may check out an eBook in their name with their personal Destiny account. If you don’t know/remember how to access your account, please see me.
Database eBooks: From the MPS Databases page, select the red “e Books” button or bookmark this: http://www.mpsaz.org/library/databases/ebooks2/, there are multiple ebook options; PebbleGo, Follett Shelf, ABDO, Lerner, WorldBook, and Infobase. All have the same username/password of mps4/search. All are accessible from home or school. Username/passwords can be shared non-publicly with students and their families (no webpage postings).
Tumblebooks: Accessible directly at tumblebooks.com. Also uses mps4/search. Now has chapter books, classics, videos, non-fiction at levels pre-school-???
