Welcome to Roosevelt!

Principal's Message

Dear Roosevelt Families,

Welcome to the home of the Rough Riders!  It is going to be a SUPER year as we work together to show that "we are not every day people doing everyday things... we are a different kind; we can do anything." We will all work to show that "we could be heroes."  It is going to be a Super Hero kind of year!  Our theme song this year will be "We Could Be Heroes" by Alesso.

The 2017-18 school year will be our third year as an AVID school.  Please join us in challenging your children to be college and career ready. This will be our second year of being a PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and supports) school.  We will continue to teach and celebrate positive choices on our campus as we work as a team to be respectful, responsible, and safe.

We look forward to meeting with all Rough Rider families at our Meet the Teacher night on Monday, August 7th from 4 to 5:30 p.m.  Thank you for partnering with us as we all work towards Success for Everyone!

Sincerely,

Darlene Shumway

Principal of Roosevelt Elementary

Gracias

Atentamente, Darlene Shumway

Roosevelt Newsletter vol. 1

Rough Rider Parents,

The Roosevelt Rough Rider theme for the year will be, “We Could be Heroes!”  The song, Heroes by Alesso states, “Everyday people do everyday things, but I can’t be one of them.  I know you hear me now, you are a different kind. We can do anything.  We could be heroes!” We will have lots of fun this year as we talk about being Heroes with our super powers of learning, helping, listening, participating, persevering, reading, writing, solving, collaborating, thinking, and caring.  When we use our super powers to improve ourselves to be the best that we can be, we can be Heroes!

It’s going to be another great year at Roosevelt!

Sincerely, Darlene Shumway,

Principal, Roosevelt Elementary
