Welcome to the Roosevelt Elementary title 1 Department! I am Amy Durivage, the Title 1 Improvement Specialist. My main role is to support students, teachers, and parents with instruction. This includes providing training to teachers and parents, training and overseeing our instructional support staff, assessing students, coordinating testing, helping teachers with curriculum and providing resources for instruction. I also oversee the Title 1 program at the school.
I moved to Arizona when I was in second grade and was a student here at Roosevelt Elementary when our school was brand new. I went on to Powell Junior High and Westwood High School. I graduated from Arizona State University in 1985 and completed my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 1989 from Northern Arizona University. I have my early childhood endorsement, reading endorsement, and ESL endorsement.
This is my 33rd year teaching for Mesa Public Schools. I taught at Stevenson Elementary for 20 years, Irving Elementary for 1 year, and was the Basic Skills Specialist at Red Mountain Ranch and Washington Elementary.
I feel so lucky to be at my childhood school. I look forward to working with the staff, students, and parents of Roosevelt. Please do not hesistate to contact with me with any questions or concerns you may have. Roosevelt students are the best!!
