All students at Salk attend General Music class once a week. We use instruments and singing to learn rhythms, note reading and composition skills. Students are predominantly taught using the Orff Method which emphasizes group music making through the use of movement and percussion instruments. Some of these instruments include the xylophone, tambourine, drum, wood block,triangle and recorder.
Students are graded based on their behavior and participation on a week to week basis. Everyone is encouraged to put forth their best effort each day.
