I am so happy to be teaching at Salk Elementary again this year.  I attended Mesa Public Schools as a child and graduated from Dobson High School, so I really feel like I am back home.  I knew I wanted to teach, since I was five years old, and come from a long line of teachers.  Both of my parents, my grandparents, and great-grandparents were all teachers, so I guess you could say teaching is in my blood!

Although I haven't taught in Mesa very long, I am a veteran teacher and have been teaching throughout the past 22 years.  I taught in the Gilbert School District, after graduating from ASU, and before having my children.  Then, I took some time off to be home with my young boys.  I also taught a private preschool out of my home, so I could be my children's first teacher.  Now that all of my own children are in school, full time, I am excited to teach elementary school again.  Salk has been a fantastic place to return to education and I was impressed with the other teachers and the staff right from the start.

I am so excited to get to know all of my fifth graders!!  I will do everything I can to help your children feel safe and loved at school.  I will teach them reading, writing, and math, but I will also teach them how special they are as individuals and show them that they are loved.  I am happy to become part of their lives and work closely with each family.  Teachers and parents share a partnership in the education of a child, so we will be working together.  Please keep in close contact with me throughout the school year so we can do whatever is necessary to help your child grow to be the very best fifth grader they can be.
