Dear Parent or Guardian,

Welcome to a new school year!  I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself.

I was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona.  My first language was Spanish.  I come from a large family of eleven children.  My father was a migrant worker, and during my summer vacations I worked in the cotton fields with my siblings.  Working in the fields taught me how to work hard and gave me the desire to make a better life for my family.  I realized that education was the key to a successful future.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Arizona State University and my Master’s Degree from Northern Arizona University.  I taught at Longfellow Elementary School for eight years and have been teaching at Salk Elementary School the last 11 years.

I am excited about working as a team with you and your child this 2014-2015 academic year.   Good communication between parent, teacher, and student is very important for your child’s education.  I welcome questions or comments, and am looking forward to a great year!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Carlina Esparza-Keeme
