CB 01 – Business and Personal Financial Success

Students will explore the role of business in our economic society. They will also learn how to manage their money (budgeting, checking, saving, and investing), research career opportunities, and learn job skills (applying, interviewing and work ethics) necessary to achieve future personal and financial success.


CB 02 Computer Essentials

 Grades 7 - 9

 1 semester

 Difficulty: Average

Students will learn computer applications and concepts needed for success in high school and beyond. This is a hands-on course in which students will improve their keyboarding and numeric keypad skills. Emphasis will be on word processing (Word) and Internet Explorer with an introduction to spreadsheets (Excel), presentations (PowerPoint), desktop publishing (Publisher) and Voice Recognition software.


CB 03 Computer TICS (Technology Integrations Into Core Curriculum Standards) Prerequisite CB 02 or CB 10

 Grades 7 - 9

 1 semester

 Difficulty: Average

This is a hands-on course which reinforces the state academic standards. Students will use technology in conjunction with subject area content. Activities will include internet research, reports, PowerPoint presentations, and importing charts and graphs.


CB 04 Web Creations

 Grades 8 - 9

 1 semester

 Difficulty: Average

In Web Creations, students will learn how to create dynamic, yet vibrant, web destinations using web authoring software. Students will have the ability to work in a single environment to quickly create, build, and manage websites and Internet applications.


CB 05 Animation Studio
Recommended that you first take Web Creations (CB04) or Computer Graphics (CB13)

Animation Studio explores the history, concepts and techniques of computer animation. From storyboarding to final production, students will create 2D and 3D animations and videos using graphics, animation, web editing, and digital video software.


CB 13 Computer Graphics

 Grades 8 - 9

 1 semester

 Difficulty: Average

This course gives the student the opportunity to apply their art talents while learning the features of a computer graphics program. Topics in this project-based course include using the paint tools, working with objects in the draw layer, the effective use of color perspective drawing, three-dimensional figures, and the role of geometry in art. Projects could range from restoring a photo to applying the principles of perspective in designing a cityscape.
