This is Ms. Callahan's third year working with the wonderful students and families of Shepherd Jr. High School. She provides counseling services for students with last names "A-O" and is the AVID counselor. Before coming to Shepherd, she served for 4 years as the school counselor at Robson and Holmes elementary schools in Mesa. She also worked for several years as a school counselor in New Mexico.
Ms. Callahan earned her B.S. in Communication from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio and earned her M.A. in Counseling from West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia. Ms. Callahan is from Columbus, Ohio and is a proud Ohio State Buckeye fan!
Ms. Callahan's goal is to ensure that students at Shepherd benefit from a comprehensive school counseling program, that aligns with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) nation model and focuses on academic, career and personal/social development. Jr. High School is an exciting, yet challenging time for students and their parents. Ms. Callahan embraces the opportunity to impact the lives of students and families in a positive way, and looks forward to partnering with parents and staff to help ensure that all students learn and succeed.
