Biography

Teaching is my calling; my mission statement reads, “My life’s work is to teach.  I will maintain my integrity as I teach young people and adults.”  As a fourth generation teacher in Mesa, I bring not only my own expertise but that of those who came before me.  I have taught all junior high grade levels in Mesa for 24 years, 21 of them at Shepherd.  Currently, I teach freshman English, the grade and curriculum I most love.  My goal is to help my students not only understand language but to revel in it.

I am married with three children and one grandchild and make my home in Mesa.  I love to read and write, which may explain why I became an English teacher.
