I am so excited for another year as the school counselor at Sirrine!
I grew up in Prescott, Arizona and attended public school there. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Graphic Design from The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas. After getting married and moving back to Arizona, I worked for two years as a graphic designer and communications producer. I knew I wanted a career change, and my husband (who is a teacher) convinced me to try an assistant teaching position in a 4th grade classroom at a classical charter school. I absolutely loved working with kids and decided to pursue a graduate degree in school counseling. I spent two years working as an assistant teacher and subbed for one year while completing my internship at Edison and Roosevelt elementary schools.
I graduated from New York University with a Master of Arts in Applied Psychology and School Counseling. It is inspiring to help teach students how to manage their emotions, problem-solve, and cope with difficulties. I look forward to working with your students!
