Skyline HS has an active robotics club that is very involved in FIRST robotics. We participate in two FRC events a year, one at NAU in March and the other at GCU in April. This year's competition is Destination: Deep Space. The team meets after school and on Saturdays during the build season. The season officially starts at the beginning of January, and all teams are given six weeks to design and build their competition robot. Then the robot must be "bagged and tagged", and will remain so until students arrive at a competition. After the bag and tag, students may practice driving other robots and may continue working with their programming.
The team just competed at the Northern Arizona Regional Competition at NAU over our Spring Break and did very well. Skyline Robotics was the team captain of the alliance that made it to the finals. This is a big step for us and we have never made it to the finals before! In doing so we earned and invitation to the World Championship in Houston, Texas this April 16-20th.
ECA donations are the best way for the team to raise funds from individuals. This is an Arizona tax credit that goes right to the club. Here is a link for making ECA donations on-line to the club, just make sure they are designated to the Skyline HS Robotics club.
We would love for businesses and companies to partner with us! Financial support can best be given by a check made out to "Skyline High School Robotics Club". These can be mailed or delivered, and then will be deposited into the Bookstore.
