Skyline High School
Mr. Tom Brennan
Welcome to the 2017-18 school year at Skyline High School! This will be my second year at Skyline, and I am thoroughly excited and proud to be a Coyote. I look forward to meeting all of our students and as many parents as possible in the coming weeks. Please know that you are a stakeholder of this great school -- one who has a "stake" in the school. In the business world, a stakeholder is an owner or an investor in the entity. Here at Skyline, there are at least six key groups of stakeholders invested in our school: students, parents, teachers and staff, district staff members, school board members, and our neighbors in the community. A big part of my job is to engage the stakeholders in our school. You are always welcome on this campus, and one of my main priorities is to keep you informed, and as much as you would like to be, to keep you involved in our school. If you would like to become more involved in our school by serving on our School Improvement Advisory Council (SIAC), please email me firstname.lastname@example.org; or if you'd just like to stop by for a tour or to get more acquainted, don't hesitate to contact me; my direct phone line is 480-472-9401.
Mr. Mark Munoz
Senior Assistant Principal & Registration
Welcome to Skyline High School. My name is Mark Munoz and I am excited to be the Assistant Principal of the Senior Class. This will be my tenth year in administration. Prior to my time at Skyline I was a junior high assistant principal, taught students with learning disabilities in Mesa and Flagstaff and also coached high school football, basketball, and softball. Please do not hesitate to communicate with teachers, administration or staff. My belief is in trying to be proactive with students rather than reactive. I look forward to a great year and working with you and your student to Create a Legacy of Excellence here at Skyline!
Mr. Greg Schultz
Junior Assistant Principal & Athletic Director
My name is Greg Schultz. I'm excited to begin my 8th year as an Assistant Principal at Skyline High School. This year I will serve as Assistant Principal of the Junior Class. Quite simply, I will do my best to work with all students to help pass classes, receive course credits, maintain proper discipline, and achieve their goal of graduating from Skyline High School.
In addition, I will begin my 6th year as Athletic Director at Skyline High School. My goal is to help each student athlete be successful in the classroom as well as in their particular sport. I will be present in classrooms, at practices, and at competitions for all sports to help support our student athletes and coaches. I want Skyline High School athletics to compete at a high level in every endeavor, whether that be in the classroom or on the athletic field. I'm anxious to begin working with our student athletes, coaches, parents and Coyote fans. (#fearthehowl)
I have been employed with Mesa Public Schools for 36 years. I served 7 years as Assistant Principal/Athletic Director at Rhodes Junior High School before arriving at Skyline. Prior to Rhodes, I have been Assistant Principal at Stevenson, Taft, Eisenhower and Keller Elementary Schools. Prior to my administrative career, I was a teacher for 20 years. I have taught at Stevenson, Whittier and Porter Elementary Schools as well as being a Faculty Associate for 11 years at Arizona State University in the College of Education.
I am originally from Two Rivers, Wisconsin (yes, I'm a Cheesehead!). I graduated from high school and was recruited by Arizona State University to play football. I played on two Fiesta Bowl teams and on a Garden State Bowl team. I am a huge Sun Devil fan (Go Devils!) I recently became a grandparent! I thoroughly enjoy being grandpa to Olivia as well as being with my wife, Karen, daughters Jessica, Lindsay, and son-in-law, Chris. Along with being with family, I also enjoy reading, traveling, and golfing (recording a hole-in-one at Viewpoint Golf Course in Mesa.)
Mr. Adam Unrein
Sophomore Assistant Principal & Activities
Welcome! My name is Adam Unrein, and I am the assistant principal for student activities and the Sophomore Class. This is my fourth year at Skyline.
Prior to Skyline, I served as an English teacher, football coach, wrestling coach, and girls' softball coach. Besides teaching and coaching at the high school level, I also taught English at a junior college. These experiences have given me the opportunity to work with students in a variety of capacities. I look forward to working with your student to help them realize the tremendous importance of a high school experience and how to target post-secondary aspirations.
