Reminder to students of all grades: Log into your portal and check your spring schedule. Make sure all six classes are accounted for and check to make sure you have the right classes and right teachers. Please note the order will likely NOT be the same as this semester due to changes in the master schedule. If there are ERRORS (missing class period, duplicate class period, same class twice, a different teacher for the second half of a year-long class, etc.), please email your Student Advisor.
Sophomores - Reminder that your ACE (Achieving a College Education) applications are due this Friday, December 7th. Make sure you have all parts and pieces before turning it into your Student Advisor.
Breakfast with Santa
Student Council is in need of volunteers to help with Breakfast with Santa. Two dates are available to help. Set-up help is needed on December 14th from 3pm-6pm. Volunteers are also needed at the event on Saturday, December 15th from 7:30-12:30. Sign-ups are on a first come first serve basis. To sign-up, please see Mrs. Schnuelle in room 210.

In order to get into the holiday spirit, there will be a spirit week leading up to Breakfast with Santa.

College and Career Center
ASU will be in the Career Center on Thursday, December 6th from 9-1 p.m. to assist all seniors that are needing FAFSA assistance and verification (for all colleges/universities, financial aid packages, admitted student assistance, and applications.
Seniors remember to complete your FAFSA
before January. Scholarship award packages from colleges and universities are
being sent out now. Don't miss out complete your FAFSA today!
Juniors and Seniors we will host another ASVAB testing on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. Please sign up with Mrs. Harris in the Career Center.
Homa & Irene Wood Foundation Scholarship is now open. Seniors must be enrolled a full-time student at a Mesa High School, demonstrate financial need through FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR), graduate with 3.2 or higher GPA, Critical Reading and Math total at least 1000 on SAT or 20 on the ACT, and accepted as a full-time student at an Arizona college or university. Applications are available in the Career Center.
· It is time for the annual Skyline Leo Club holiday food drive!
We are collecting cans and all non-perishable foods to donate to the Apache Junction Food Bank. Food boxes are located in the cafeteria, teachers lounge, and the upper and lower levels of the 200 building. Please help out those in need this holiday season and donate food.
· The Island Dance Club will be meeting today at 3pm-4:15pm in room 630.
· The Culinary Club will be meeting today in room 241 @ 3:00pm.
· The Spanish club will be meeting tomorrow after school. Don’t forget to bring your receipts from the Book Store or your cash.
Do you struggle with anxiety or depression and want to learn ways to cope? Come to our coping skills group during A and B lunch Auditorium lobby. You don't have to sign up - just show up!
Seniors Going to Mesa Community College!!
If you are planning to attend MCC and your HIGH SCHOOL UNWEIGHTED GPA is 2.6 or higher, you are no longer required to take our Accuplacer Placement tests in Writing, Reading and Math.
If your GPA is below 2.6, you can take your placement tests with me at Skyline High School next week.
Testing will be as follows:
Thursday, December 6
Morning Session: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Afternoon Session: 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Testing sessions will last about 3 hours to allow all three tests to be taken: Writing, Reading and Math. Here is a link to the Test Prep, https://www.mesacc.edu/testing-services/placement-test-sample-questions.
You can use your personal, school-issued laptops for testing. Please bring your charger cable.
You must have already applied to a MCC and have your 8-digit student number that was issued when you applied.

· Students, get holiday photos done with your pet to be put in the yearbook. On Saturday, December 15th (the same time as Breakfast with Santa), get your photo taken with your pet out in front of the gym. For $20 you get a spot in the yearbook and an 8x10 print delivered to you. This could also make for a great gift idea.
· Pink-Out is next Friday at the Varsity Girls' Basketball Game. Show up and support cancer survivors and cancer research. If you have family members who have survived cancer or are currently battling cancer, please invite them to the game, so Skyline can show them support!
· The health office has a lot of student’s clothes that were Dress coded from August! They must be picked up by Noon on 12/21 or they will be donated to Goodwill.
Any student withdrawing from Skyline High School at the end of semester in December, and not returning in January, please stop by the registration office to get your withdrawal paperwork.
The senior panorama picture will be on Monday, December 10th, during 3rd hour. All students must report to their 3rd hour first for attendance, and to LEAVE YOUR BELONGINGS IN CLASS. Once attendance is taken, seniors will be released to the gym for the photo.
**EVIT students must make arrangements to be present in the photo. There will be NO RETAKES.
