Big Man on Campus

 

Come cheer on your favorite senior guys at Big Man on Campus on Thursday, January 17 at 6pm in the auditorium. Tickets are $5.

 

Winter Formal

 

Winter Formal is on Saturday, January 26 from 7-10pm. The theme is Dancing Through The Decades- so you can dress to any decade, past or present. Presale tickets are $15 with activity cards, $20 without. Don't wait to buy your tickets, because prices go up at the door to $20 with activity card, $25 without.

 

Remember ladies, its girl ask guy, so get your proposals in to the SHS Proposals twitter by January 23 for a chance to win 2 free tickets to the dance. 

 

College and Career Center

 

Seniors the Mahnah Club Scholarship applications are due on January 15th by 3:30 p.m. to Mrs. Harris in the Career Center. 

 

 Applications for the Homa & Irene Wood Foundation Scholarship deadline February 7th and Mesa Chamber Student Spotlight on Leadership Scholarship deadline February 11th. Please see Mrs. Harris in the Career Center. 

 

Seniors needing assistance with FAFSA please see Mrs. Harris in the Career Center. You must have your FSA ID  for the student and parent, 2017 tax returns or a copy, social security number or alien registration ID number, and know the total of bank account balances and investments. 

 

Seniors that had completed the FAFSA need to bring in a copy of the FAFSA Confirmation Page E-mail to Mrs. Harris. The students that turn in their copies will be put in a drawing for tickets to the Big Man Competition and Winter Formal. The first drawing will be January 11th! 

 

Students do you have a favorite teacher? Nominate your teacher for Teacher of the Year. All you have to do is fill out a form and write a short 200-word essay! 

Nomination forms are in the Career Center! Application Deadline is February 8th.

January 16th NAU and U of A 9-11 a.m.

January 17th Chandler Gilbert Community College 9-11 a.m.

January 18th ASU 8:30-11 a.m.

 

Clubs

 

Leo Club will be meeting today after school  in room 801 at 3:10pm. 

 

The ukulele club meeting is canceled for today.

 

Any boys interested in trying out for Boys Volleyball this spring, there will be open gym tonight from 8:00 p.m- 9:30 in the Skyline gym. If you have any questions, please see Coach Konvalin or Coach Myers.

 

Coyote Strong

1) Learn about 2 Years of Free Tuition available at Mesa Community College or any of our 10 Maricopa colleges. The Presidential Honors Scholarship is open to those that have a 3.25 or higher HS GPA (unweighted). The Honors Department will be visiting Skyline HS on

The deadline to submit permission slips and register for this event is Friday, January 23. See your MCC Rep, Joe Hughbanks, in the Media Center, Room 103, at the bottom of the ramp to get permission slips and return them. 

 

Powder Puff

 

Attention senior and junior girls: are you interested in playing in this year's powder puff game? An informational meeting will be held before school on Friday, January 18 at 7:30am in room 109. This is a MANDATORY meeting.

 

Any senior and junior boys interested in coaching and/or cheerleading for Powder Puff should also plan to attend the meeting. If you have questions see Mrs. Schnuelle in room 210.
