Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants meet all of the following criteria:
- Seniors in good standing who will graduate from an accredited
Arizona high school and enter the university as a college freshmen - Arizona resident
- First generation to attend college (neither parent/step-parent, living or
deceased, or legal guardian holds a four year degree from any country) - Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA (weighted or unweighted)
- Minimum combined SAT score of 1110 OR composite ACT score
of 22 (excluding writing score in both instances) - Admitted to one of Arizona’s three residential public universities
(Arizona State University-Tempe, Northern Arizona University-
Flagstaff, University of Arizona-Tucson) - Demonstrated financial need (www.fafsa.ed.gov)
- Demonstrated leadership and volunteer service
- Agree to participate in all aspects of the scholarship program (See Program At A Glance)…MUST be able to travel internationally
- Signed Scholar Participation Agreement
- Reside on campus freshman and sophomore year
- Successfully complete the Dorrance Summer Bridge Program in Flagstaff, AZ, June – August 2021
Award
Up to $12,000 annually, renewable. No more than 8 semesters (four years) of funding will be provided. Up to thirty awards will be made each year. Awards will be announced no later than May 1st.

Renewal
- Attend all Program events, meetings and summer experiences
- Register for and complete a minimum of 12 units per semester
- Maintain a minimum cumulative 3.00 GPA
- Reside on campus freshman and sophomore year
- Update FAFSA annually
- Determined to be in good standing and eligible for continuation at the post-secondary institution
- Demonstrated participation in 40 hours of volunteer service each academic year
- Submit a year-end report by May 1st
- Meet the terms and conditions of the Scholar Participation Agreement
- In addition to any other terms and conditions, the number and amount of all scholarship awards and renewals is contingent on the availability of funding
