Mayor Youth Application Due

The Mayor’s Youth Committee is an elect group of Juniors and Seniors from high  schools throughout Mesa. Past participants have often shared their favorite part of the  program is the new friendships they form and the many opportunities to interact with  students from all over the City.  

Participants in the program gain knowledge of local government, tour city departments,  and perform community service. You’ll get to interact with the Mayor, City Council and  City staff on a regular basis to learn the ins and outs of city government.  

The capstone project for the program is the Mayor’s Assignment where you work in  teams to research a current Mesa issue. MYC members present their findings to the  Mayor with comprehensive, well thought-out arguments including visual presentations.  

 

MYC members who successfully complete the program are invited to participate in a  special MYC graduation and reception. If desired, I’m also happy to provide MYC  members a letter of recommendation to bolster your college and scholarship  applications.
