I graduated from ASU with a degree in English, but after dabbling in an assortment of other occupations, I had to acknowledge that what I loved most was reading, writing, and talking with others who shared those interests.   I returned to ASU to complete the post-baccalaureate work required to obtain a teaching certificate.

I began my teaching career at Central High School in the Phoenix Union High School District.   During my twelve years there, I taught some form of every grade level, from British Literature with seniors to a Humanities Block for freshman.  Although I enjoyed working with the students and my colleagues, I eventually tired of the long commute and decided to make a change.

I came to Mesa Public Schools and Smith Junior High in 2003.  It was a definite culture shock to move from high school to junior high, but I adapted.  With the addition of ninth grade to high school, I moved to Skyline in 2010.  I am very excited to be back in high school!  How many people can say that?
