The 2016-2017 school year ushers in my 28th year of teaching. In that time, I've taught everything from elementary special education to junior high American History to adult ELAD classes. The diversity of my experiences has made teaching interesting, and it continues to be my passion. I can't imagine any profession I could have chosen that I would enjoy more! I am certified in elementary, secondary (English and Reading), and special education. I also have adult education, reading, and gifted education endorsements.
My education includes a bachelor's degree in education from Arizona State University and a master's degree in special education from Portland State University. Two years ago, I began working toward a master's degree in rhetoric and teaching English through Northern Arizona University.
This year, I am teaching three Sophomore English classes and two AP Literature and Composition classes..
On a more personal note, I am married and have five cats and two horses. My hobbies include enjoying nature, reading, and watching classic film. I love taking day trips around Arizona; one of my newest hobbies is learning more about Arizona places and history.
