Subjects: English Language Arts and Reading

Courses Taught: Basic English and Reading

Welcome to the new school year! My name is Erica DeMik and I look forward to sharing this instructional year with you and your student.

I am originally from Dayton, Ohio and moved to Mesa and began teaching in Arizona in 2002. I completed my education in Dayton before moving here. I currently hold a BA is Psychology and a MA in Special Education.  I am married with 2 dogs which that keep me busy. In addition, I use my time outside of school hiking, cycling, and teaching pilates.

In the Basic English Class and Reading Classes we will be following the Arizona Standards for Career and College Readiness so we can get our students ready for College and Career following High School. Our pace may be a bit slower because we may spend time going deep into concepts, but students will work with all the standards throughout the course of the year.

Extra help: Please make appointments as needed. I am often in meetings before school and I want to protect my time with you so I need to reserve that time.
