Hello! 안녕하세요! Merhaba!

I am indeed Ms. McGinnity, and it is my pleasure to be teaching Freshman English here at Skyline High School.

I have a BA in English Literature from Arizona State University as well as an M.Ed from University of Illinois in Educational Policy, Organization and Leadership, with a concentration in Global Studies in Education.

After I graduated with my BA (go devils!), I moved to South Korea and taught English at a public middle school in the great city of Suwon for 3 years. I'll always consider it a second home, and all it takes is one taste of the food to experience true happiness. Though my Korean language skills are basic, I can read and write, which is an excellent tidbit for after-school dinner parties.

After completing my time in Korea, I moved to Turkey, to the ancient city of Gaziantep, where you can spend an entire day wandering around the winding, narrow streets of the traditional bazaar and eating baklava and pistachios. On holidays, I was fortunate to be able to hop on a plane and spend a few days exploring the country of my choice, and spent vacations in Italy, Austria, Spain, and France.

Now a coyote, I'm so thrilled to be here and share this new adventure with you or your student. Whether college, career, or global bound, my goal is to give students the tools they need to navigate their future- in both ELA skills and also character, responsibility, and courage.

Let's make this a great year!
