Biography

Hello there! I'm a new biology teacher here at Skyline, and I'm very excited to be at a fantastic school in the best district in Arizona! I'm originally from Los Angeles, and moved to Arizona in 2009. Aside from science and teaching, my other major passions are sports and music. I should be honest. Being from LA, I'm a diehard Dodgers and Lakers fan. I hope that doesn’t negatively affect your opinion of me. My in-laws are Dbacks season ticket holders if that makes you feel any better. If they can accept me, I’m sure you can, too. I’m also an avid soccer and football fan, and I'm ready to talk sports with whoever has the time.

I spent last year at Smith Jr. High teaching 7th grade science, 8th grade science, and AVID. Being at Smith last year, I feel right at home here at Skyline. I have a Bachelors of Science in kinesiology from ASU. If you don't know what kinesiology is, you’re not alone. Kinesiology is the study of human movement with heavy ties to physics, chemistry, and especially biology. I also have a master's in secondary education from the wonderful Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at ASU. As you could imagine, this makes me quite a Sun Devils fan, as well.

Science is a journey into a world of creativity, exploration, and innovation. Biology helps to explain life and the world we live in. I'm excited to take the students of Skyline on this journey with me while challenging them and expanding their minds. I look forward to a wonderful year with you all!
