After working as a Petroleum Geologist for four years, I began teaching science and coaching in 1985. I have been an educator 24 years and entered the ranks of administration after 12 years at a large high school. My interest and success in working with early adolescents led me to move to a junior high and I spent three years as the principal of Bonneville Junior High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have become an instructional leader who promotes teaming and brain based instruction with an emphasis on using data to improve instructional strategies. I am a consultant in the Rocky Mountain region, speaking on teaming, authentic assessment, interdisciplinary instruction, professional learning communities, power standards, procedures and their effect on student learning. I have been an adjunct professor at the University of Utah since 2002. I am presently working on the Skyline Network project which unites and aligns the curriculum written, curriculum taught and curriculum tested in all feeder schools and Skyline High School. For the 2008-2009 school year, I am the Junior Class Administrator and the administrator that oversees student registration, Special Education, attendance and graduation |
