I’m an 11 year veteran of the food service industry. I started as a dishwasher and worked my way up through the different positions of short order cook, lead cook, production manager and kitchen Chef. I have worked in many of the different areas such as fine dining; hot and cold prep; banquet preparation; breakfast, lunch and dinner dining; bar and grill dining; room service dining; menu preparation; purchasing and inventory control; and dessert prep. I have a passion for the industry and have no problem jumping in and working at any level.
Besides my experience in the industry, I have been baking since I was 3 years old. My mom kept me busy as a toddler by baking rolls, breads and cookies and showing me what she learned from my grandma on how to make them. As I grew older she showed me the old German recipes that were handed down to her in the family. I have a passion for cooking food and eating food. My favorite show on the Foodnetwork is “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives”. My favorite cooking show is "Good Eats".
I sponsor the Skyline Catering Team. It is a team of students that have the opportunity to cater different events throughout the school year and receive real world experience working those events. They do all the prep, set - up, breakdown and cleanup of the events. They also attend different after school clinics, fieldtrips to restaurants and establishments around the valley, and competitions to learn more advanced kitchen/ front of house skills that are used in the real world.
